Homeless people in our city!

Our community needs immediate help! Our school had lots of events to help donate to orphanages, but there are lots of tragedies like homeless people are out on the streets in Ho Chi Minh. Here’s 2 cases that I have witnessed:

A Mother and her Daughters

That day, I was walking back home whenI saw a mother sitting on the ground with her 2 daughters lying in front of her on a trashbag. She was cooking a pot of food for them, looking exhausted with stains on her face. It was a freezing night, she had her children in dirty thin blankets and she just sat there on the floor. At that time, I thought she might be tricking us for money, so I stopped my mother from donating to them. But after I went home, it suddenly started raining hard. The next day, I went back to that place, but she was gone. Since then, I have not seen her again. She might be tricking us into giving her money, but she is still a mother. And I would never forget that beautiful face of a mother who is just taking care of her children.

The 3 Sisters

I was in a grab car, going back home at night. On the street in front of Estella, on the small field of the big turn, I witnessed 3 sisters. The oldest one, somewhere about 15, was begging for money using her old hat. The second oldest, not older than 13, was carrying the youngest sister, and trying to calm her down by patting her. The youngest one, approximately 12 months, was crying for food. They are all wearing plain old T-shirts. My grab driver gave them some money, but I thought I was too young for giving out money independently. But this experience taught me not every family is perfect and I have to be grateful for what's mine, we are lucky to be in such a great school where others don’t, we have great education, great food and our family are always there for us, but lots of people don’t get the treatment, and it is not fair. We should be thankful for our opportunities, because this would be impossible for most.

I hope those 2 stories are great examples for you to care a little more for our city and what we could do right now is simple, you could donate to the homeless people, even a small amount matters to them, you could participate in donating organizations and give a little money where they will buy foods and products for the homeless people. To me, those situations truly infected my behaviour and way of thinking, resulting in me donating to student-led organisations in colleges, and it also made me kinder to people, knowing that 1 kindness move will make a community of loving people. Have a great day!
