Glow up with new trending stores: Finding new ways to shop.

Many teens now all dress identically, in low-rise jeans or Hollister tops, waiting to be let into the hottest shopping destination ports. The way most teens dress now can take away uniqueness and creativity. Some people complain that TikTok trends seem to be influencing young teens to dress according to the latest trends, but really, following trends is not all that bad. In this article, we will discuss different high-fashion brands and their pros and cons, including Brandy Melville, Hollister, and Pacsun. 

1. PacSun 

PacSun is the latest and most popular denim brand for teens. It has been around for approximately 40 years and has been popular ever since. PacSun mainly sells denim pieces. However, a tonne of reviews on their websites are low-rated, with bad comments. Usually, customers complain about shipping issues such as taking too long to ship, paying extra money for a 3-day shipment but ending up waiting 2 weeks for one denim piece. Shipping to incorrect locations is a common issue faced by 80% of people who order online, as a review [1] I read from TrustPilot reviews from PacSun states, “They shipped my package to another person in another city 15 hours away. The person who received my package kindly and resourcefully found me through social media.” Some reviews also stated that they got the wrong item or that their order was never sent out, sometimes even waiting a month for their items to ship and then ending up never getting them. It is a frequent issue, as most customers who order online never leave a good review, as 76% don’t rate over 2 stars after shipping online. 

Some other reviews say that their service is excellent in-store but not so stable online. I agree with this opinion, as due to all the online store reviews, it does show a lot. So, if you really do like PacSun, I recommend you go to the store, rather than ordering online, for the best service. On Yelp, the average reviews of 1556 people are a low rating of 2.4 stars. So PacSun is definitely on the lower side of reviews and ratings, but many people also recommend denim jeans for the latest trends and affordable denim. 

2. Hollister

Hollister has been a popular brand for many years, gaining momentum since the 2000s and continuing through to 2025. It has gained significant popularity over the past year, largely due to new drops and emerging clothing trends. Nevertheless, reviews read on TrustPilot and Yelp both state that the quality of Hollister has severely “nosedived” recently. Many people state that they wash their items from Hollister a few times, following the washing instructions. Yet, their clothes still shrink, or the material feels rough and unusual compared to the first time they received the clothes. A review on TrustPilot [2] states that their clothes, after washing a few times, feel like “SHEIN quality”. Or, that the Hollister quality is not what it used to be. 

In my opinion, I recommend buying items on sale from their website so that you can receive items that have not been tried on or tested for the best quality. Hollister is recommended if you want to follow up on the latest trends or how you would like to style yourself, as it supports a lot of different fashion styles. 

3. Brandy Melville

Brandy Melville is one of the hottest trends throughout these clothing stores, with weekly new clothing drops, and some stores are even in Asia. Brandy Melville's reviews are mixed, with some customers enjoying the brand’s California-inspired, simple styles and quality basics, while others criticise the limited one-size-fits-all policy, poor customer service, and alleged issues with the store and staff behaviour. 

There is a lot of positive feedback, often complimenting good-quality basics such as skirts and shirts, a pleasant store atmosphere, and the convenience of not worrying about clothing sizes. Sadly, reviews on TrustPilot [3] are increasingly low; many talk about bad customer service. Reviews go as low as 1.6 stars based on customer service.  Brandy Melville is a great clothing store for simplistic designs and basic, cute clothing and is recommended for pre-teens and teenagers.
